Picture
Life-size bust handmade. The armature consists of:  a life-size plastic skull mounted onto a wooden post, which is then overlayed with a muscle layer sculpted out of wax that has hardened, this is then overlayed with modeling clay which never dries.  So the modeling layer can be peeled away to show the hardened wax muscle layer. The irises are doll eyes.  The shirt is real.
This sculpture was later used for the multiple paintings you see, of the progression of showing the different layers within.
This sculpture has since been dismantled and destroyed.

This "Systemic" clay model was then dismantled as shown here, and positioned to be used for a new painting.  The new painting was started (an acrylic on paper), but kept unfinished, as this deconstruction seemed a bit too much.
